Nevada Youth Empowerment Fellowship
The Nevada Youth Empowerment Fellowship is designed for and by youth ages 14-18. The fellowship provides Nevada youth experience in network building, facilitation and program design through opportunities to help shape the vision for the future of teaching and learning in Nevada. The fellowship will take place from Sept. – Dec. 2023 and is a paid opportunity.
As part of the Nevada Department of Education’s ongoing efforts to transform Nevada’s education landscape with personalized, competency-based learning, Nevada Youth Empowerment Fellows will aim to ensure that student voice is reflected in both the direction and decision making happening at all stages of the process.
Throughout the fellowship, youth will focus on will-building and engagement among their peers. Weekly virtual meetups will serve as program design sessions and KnowledgeWorks staff will provide professional co-facilitation, coaching and support for implementation of engagement strategies developed by the fellows.
